Product Design Study Program is part of the Department of Design at the Faculty of Art and Design, Trisakti University. The Product Design Study Program has come a long way since 1969 in following the fast-paced field of Science and Technology. This requires Product Design to continuously improve itself, improve quality in order to win the sympathy and trust of the public. A design result will be called successful if the product can meet the interests of many related parties, from consumers, traders, exporters and producers. This of course will meet many obstacles, the work of creating a product is not a simple job. This task can only be done well by a professional designer who is an expert in his field. Product Design must be able to bridge the various interests of all related parties and process them into a complete and integrated design. As we know, many of the existing product designs are the result of designs that are nuanced in future technology but do not rule out the possibility of developing traditional products.

In lecture material, the development of traditional designs is maintained because this is a characteristic possessed by the Indonesian people. Improvement and quality control of Product Design continues to be carried out with the support of adequate facilities and infrastructure in the form of; library, workshop practice, computer lab, T.A studio and others. Improving the ability of academic staff in Product Design in the form of increasing the level of education, attending courses, seminars and others. The development of insight for students is carried out by carrying out professional work in related industries, visits to industry, comparative studies with professional educational institutions, attending seminars and others. Graduates from the Product Design study program work as design entrepreneurs, design higher education, professional designers, government and multi-national companies. In accordance with the Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives of Product Design, the Faculty of Art and Design, Trisakti University in the future must be able to face competition with Product Design education partners at home and abroad in their own country as well as those who open branches in Indonesia.
